A brand where ‘Less is more’ transcends in the garments through masterful detailing, well-thought design and a touch of nazakat. With an indo-centric aesthetic that is craft intensive - whimsical fantasies are brought to life in contemporary minimal silhouettes. The subjects - be it royals or animals either inspire or make us wonder. Textiles are reinvented and transformed to achieve luxurious comfort while celebrating the subtlety of Indian culture. SUKETDHIR is the epitome of elegance and yet so deceptively raw, with minimalism that transcends beyond a trend into a lifestyle.
About the Founders
SUKETDHIR : The Founder
A designer whose minimal aesthetic deceives, a closer look at his work and you see the intricacies, often known only to the wearer, that each work possesses. Graduating from NIFT, his first retail presence was at Good Earth. In 2015/16 he was selected for the International Woolmark Prize competition which he won in the menswear category. Revolutionising the Indian fashion industry, SUKETDHIR emphasises the importance of playful fabrics and minute details. His design philosophy embodies leisure in all forms. A wanderer by soul, he continues to design poetry and celebrate dreamy wanderings, giving fabrics his very own definition.
Svetlana Dhir : The Co-founder
An analyst in her previous life, the lady behind the brand is the continuing muse of the designer. A woman of immense grace and poise, she inspired a foray into womenswear with the He for She collection.
With an educational background in psychology, an intuitive mind made her managerial flow easy at the design house. Over the years her style has cemented to resonate SUKETDHIR.
SIGNATURE CHARACTERISTICS
Jaali Stitch Finishes
An impromptu fix that turned into a signature SUKETDHIR design detail. This technique of Jaali stitches running across the seams, technically also called fagoted seams strengthen the seam and reduce slippage. More so, it adds on as a beautiful finishing detail.
Buttons sewn with multicolour thread
Blue, red, yellow, then orange- a fun play of coloured threads that sew the buttons. Unnoticed in the first glance, these are the details that add to the brand's quirks. Little details that make even our classic shirts so interesting.
